    Currently, RFID uhf has two protocol standards to choose from.One is iso18000-6b and the other is EPC C1G2 standard which has been accepted as iso18000-6c by ISO.These two standards, each has advantages.  

     

    ISO18000-6 b standard

     

    This standard is positioned as a general standard, and has mature application, relatively stable product performance, and relatively simple data format and standard.The main features of the iso18000-6b standard include: mature standards, stable products and wide application;Global unique ID number;Read the ID number first, then read the data area;Large capacity of 1024bits or 2048bits;Large user data area of 98Bytes or 216Bytes;Multiple tags can be read simultaneously, and at most dozens of tags can be read simultaneously.The data reading speed is 40kbps.The electronic labels that comply with the iso 18000-6b standard are mainly applicable to the fields such as asset management.The chip of this standard is adopted in the electronic label, electronic license plate label and electronic driver's license (driver's card) developed at present in China.  

     

    According to the characteristics of iso18000-6b standard, in terms of reading speed and number of labels, it can basically meet the requirements to apply iso18000-6b standard in applications where the number of labels is not large, such as bayonet and dock work.At present, the "electronic license plate recognition system" used in the logistics supervision system of China customs USES the electronic label of iso18000-6b standard.

     

    The deficiency of the iso18000-6b standard lies in the following aspects: in recent years, the development has been stagnant, and there is a tendency to be replaced by EPC C1G2;The software solidification technology of user data is not mature, but this situation can be solved through the chip manufacturer embedded user data.  

     

    Iso18000-6c (EPC C1G2) standard

     

    The standard features: fast, data rate up to 40kbps ~ 640kbps;The number of tags can be read at the same time, and theoretically more than 1000 tags can be read.First read the EPC number, the ID number of the label needs to be read in the way of data;Strong function, with a variety of write protection, security;It is divided into EPC area (96bits or 16Bytes, which can be extended to 512bits), ID area (64bit or 8Bytes), user area (224bit or 28Bytes) and password area (32bits or 4 Bytes). However, some manufacturers provide tags without user data area, such as Inpinj's tag.EPC C1G2 standard mainly applies to the identification of a large number of goods in the field of logistics, which is in constant development.  

     

    EPC C1G2 standard has many advantages, such as strong universality, compliance with EPC rules, low product price and good compatibility, etc., but the following problems need to be considered:

     

    1. The label products and applications of this standard are not mature yet. At present, most labels are air media.  

     

    2. The user data area is small, only 28 bytes. For the electronic label of container identification, if it is necessary to write all the container data defined by ISO10374, the data area capacity is insufficient.  

     

    3. At present, almost all the chips used for EPC label are reverse chip, few of which can be welded and encapsulated.The technology of inverted sheet is difficult to guarantee the reliability of outdoor, athletic and bumpy articles.  

     

    4, EPC C1G2 electronic label located in general label, too pursuit of low prices, the chip design and packaging design for product environmental adaptability is weak, such as applied to the container identification electronic label the environmental suitability requirements higher, longer service life, application field relative professional field, chip technology, performance, need to be further improved.  

     

    5. The standard contains self-destruct procedures, which should be seriously considered for the long-term mobile use of containers.  

     

    Based on the above analysis, it can be known that the electronic label technology of iso18000-6b standard is relatively mature in application. For example, the steps of product and practical application can be faster if it is applied to container labels.For EPC C1G2, the trend of future development is widely applied at present, and the main thrust is 6C tag in the later stage.
